Initial setup workflow for Venafi Cloud DevOpsACCELERATE

DevOpsACCELERATE is designed to allow you to get started right away by requesting certificates for use in non-production, test environments. It provides a non-publicly trusted built-in CA account that is automatically created and dedicated to your organization's use.

Use the default system configuration to learn how to use DevOpsACCELERATE and to develop against the REST API.

When you are ready to use DevOpsACCELERATE for issuing production certificates, you can create additional CA accounts, Issuing Templates, and Zones to enforce your organization's certificate security policies.

Flowchart of the setup workflow

If you're an Admin
  1. Create Issuing Templates. An Issuing Template specifies the criteria that a certificate request must satisfy in order for a certificate to be issued.

  2. Invite PKI Administrators so that they can set up Projects for their teams.

If you're a PKI Administrator
  1. Create a new project. A project contains an issuing template and one or more zones and controls the certificate request process.

  2. Invite your DevOps team members to the project so that they can use DevOps tools to request certificates.

  3. (Optional) Test the project using vCert.

If you're a Resource Owner
  1. Integrate DevOps tools.

  2. Request certificates.

  3. Invite guests to the project so that they can use DevOps tools to request certificates.

If you're a Guest
  1. Use your DevOps toolkits to request certificates.
